St. Vrain FC Scholarship Program

St. Vrain FC Members,

These past few years have been overwhelmingly positive for the local soccer community.  St. Vrain FC has experienced fantastic growth in player numbers, and the positive nature of Longmont soccer has never been stronger.  However, with explosive growth comes a number of growing pains.

In an effort to plan for the growth, we have increased our scholarship fund ten-fold since 2008.  We surpassed our scholarship budget a month ago, and the Board of Directors immediately agreed to add $4,000 to the scholarship fund.  Unfortunately, we have recently surpassed that mark, and there are still many families in our community in need. Our estimate for the outstanding need is $6000 this fall.  We feel that by raising that amount of money, every child will have the opportunity to play the beautiful game.

We are calling on our members that are in a position financially to make a donation to the scholarship fund.  If you would consider a donation of $100, it would allow up to three players a chance to play soccer that they otherwise would not have been able to afford.  Donations of any size are welcome.  To donate, you please click here.
Recreational Director of Coaching

We are excited to announce the addition of Josh Woita to the St. Vrain FC coaching staff as the Recreational Director of Coaching!

Josh joins us from Northern Illinois University, where he served as the Men’s Soccer Director of Operations.  In addition to working at NIU, Josh was on the coaching staff at Northern Illinois FC, where he performed many duties from 2006 to 2011.  Previously, Josh was the Men’s Head Soccer Coach at Kishwaukee College in Malta, Illinois, where he coached 5 All-Americans, 4 Academic All-Americans, and 39 Academic All-Conference student-athletes.  Over 8 seasons, he compiled an overall record of 117-38-9. Josh also holds a USSF “B” license.
U9 Boys team shines at 2011 Soccer Fest

We would like to congratulate the U9 Boys Warriors, coached by Craig VanEns, for taking top Honors of the White Division at the 2011 Soccer Fest.  The championship game was a resounding 4-1 Victory for the Warriors with 3 of the four goals being created by good passing.

When asked for a few thoughts on the Game, Coach Craig said, "Overall it was a good tournament for our guys.  We passed the ball around better than the teams we played, we went to the ball harder and we were more aggressive. We proved that a good team can beat a really good player if you work together."

We are excited to see the philosophy starting to pay off as more and more teams in Green are turning heads around the state.  We’re excited for the Warriors and wish them the best of luck at their next competition.  Keep working hard boys, you are making the Longmont Soccer community proud.

St. Vrain FC Philosophy
St. Vrain FC focuses on the technical and tactical development of each individual player within a team setting.

It is our goal to develop players at the younger ages so as they continue to grow and mature, they will possess the skills necessary to play at the highest level possible. We feel that by teaching them individual skills at the younger ages, they will be empowered and confident as they grow thus progressing as a player.

St. Vrain FC emphasizes the development of individual players along with the overall growth
of the team.
